Biography

Charles de Vere died young.

Karl (Charles) de Vere was the only son born to Aubrey Vere Earl of Oxford and his second wife Diana Kirke. He was born on 22 November 1675 and baptised (as Carolus de Vere, Viscount Bulbeck, son of Aubrey Earl of Oxford and Countess Diane, born 22 November and baptised on 9 December at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster. ^[1] (Viscount Bulbeck was a courtesy title traditionally given to the heir presumptive of the Earl of Oxford).

He died in February 1675/6 and was buried in the same church. (not in the vault at Westminster Abbey, which had been provided for his elder sister Charlotte in 1674. ^[2]) ^[3]
